WEEK 1
Tue- Anatomy of typography

Wed- Raphael Gibara- discuss his work and respond


Thurs- Class analysis of Gibara and present sketchbook page(s)
HW- Ed Fella artist page









WEEK 2
Tue- David Carson- class analysis

Wed- David Carson- recap discussion about his work and introduce Photoshop by responding to his work

Thur- Sketchbook surgery to complete the following tasks:


- Raphael Gibara/Anatomy of typography- own design stuck in and annotated with serif/san serif, upper/lower case, ascender, descender and kerning
- Ed Fella- page set as HW produce your own response and then compare it with his work
- David Carson- analysis, examples of his work and your own response

If the above tasks are all complete then-

- Filippo Marinetti- page set as HW/extension to produce your own response and then compare it with his work

H/W- Ensure all tasks are completed to the best of your ability by Wed 27th



WEEK 3
Tue- Matt W Moore- discuss his work and respond by hand

Wed- Sketchbook surgery

Thurs- Introduce Illustrator for digital response to Matt W Moore
H/W Review hand v digital techniques





WEEK 4
Tue- Oscar Wilson- discuss his work, observational drawings of objects for calligrams

Wed- Add words, scan & live trace


Thurs- Complete calligram variations
H/W Abba Richman artist page





WEEK 5
Tue- Vladimir Koncar- discuss his work and respond with a range of objects

Wed- Stefan Sagmeister- discuss his work and respond by placing and photographing 3D typography around college


Thurs- Poster research annotating existing examples

H/W Review of techniques






WEEK 6
Tue- Poster ideas sketched out and start to develop

Wed- Poster development and completed

H/W Further outcome research and ideas

Thurs- No lesson
